BRISTOL, RI - For the second straight season Roger Williams University has captured The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship, as the Hawks downed the Gulls, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon in Bristol, Rhode Island.

RWU swept its way through doubles competition as Caitlin Leone (Irvington, NY) and Jessica Manners (East Longmeadow, MA) defeated Nicole Breting (Woonsocket, RI/Mount St. Charles) and Lori Wardner (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional), 8-3. Kate Fiske (Westerly, RI/Westerly) and Jenna Carme (Greenfield, MA/Greenfield) dropped a tough 8-3 decision to Joanne Nettelfield (Yorktown Heights, NY) and Leah Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, CT). Alyson Boehm (Lowell, MA/Lowell) and partner Rachael Layton (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) fell 8-1.

In singles play, Manners got a 6-4, 6-4 win over Breting in the first flight, while Leone sailed to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Wardner in the No. 2 spot. Ribchinsky came away with the 6-2, 6-4 win, defeating Fiske in #3 singles. Nettelfield improved to 10-1 in number four singles, going 6-2, 6-1 over Carme, with Parente moving to 9-1 in number five singles after defeating Boehm 6-1, 6-1. McCraven rounded out the singles play, not dropping a set in her 6-0, 6-0 win over Genevieve Sherman (York, ME/York).

Endicott closes out the season with a 14-5 overall record and an 8-2 mark in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. This was the first year since 2003 that the Gulls appeared in the Conference Finals.
